Action for Liberty and Economic Development on Tuesday hosted a group of teachers with the municipality at their offices in Entebbe
Teachers were welcomed to the community project offices by the top executive and founding member, Mugabi John Socrates.
Teachers were lectured about economic and entrepreneurship to be incorporated in the school’s curriculum.
The teachers were handed economics books to equip them with macro and micro tools of business development.
“Teachers need to be equipped with modern businesses practices during the hardest times post COVID”, said economist.
Action for Liberty and Economic Development has developed a business incubation hub to facilitate the local communities within the municipality in innovation and idea development including connecting and idea to market.
Mugabi advised teachers to promote enterprise and start business in what you create than simply just sitting to merry making.
He gave examples of innovations that have been started by ALED including the annual Entebbe business summit and the Chamber of commerce.
Paul Kimuli also community development officer said the students within Entebbe to exhibit waste management innovations during the coming climate change competition between Entebbe & UK Canterbury schools.
Alex Luyimbazi also managing executive representing the Stand Out Foundation Uganda advised teachers to be innovative in skills development.
“And as an organisation we have embarked on turning waste including plastics and kaveera into utility value”, revealed report.
Teachers were shown locally made plastic door mats and shopping bags made out of locally developed resources using plastic soda bottle tops.
“The organisation’s mission is to turn waste into economic value and more so advised teachers to contact the organisation for any schools training needed for teachers and students.
