    The first leg of the Pepsi Beach Soccer League came to an epic end on Sunday at Lido Beach Entebbe with Nkumba Select side routing struggling Kampala All city Stars. Nkumba select thrashed the city stars 9-1 to finish second in the Hurriken group with 14 points. Douglas Muganga netted two thrilling braces while Allan Zirimenya and Faizal Muwawu also scored twice with David Muwangunzi completing the day’s victory with a single goal. Moses Sekasana grabbed a consolation goal from the city stars.

    Nkumba select coach Isa Asiimwe spoke to entebbenews about his side’s victory.

    “I would like to thank all the players for the spectacular performance. We just resumed the league after a long break and this is indicator that we’re focused on winning the league title this season” Isa told entebbenews on phone.

    Meanwhile Nkumba Select will be without Goal Keeper Senteza Kassim and Somoka Roch at the start of the second leg which will resume next year. The two players were given matching orders over their unsporting behaviors.

    Nakawa based Makerere University Business School ((MUBS) who top Hurriken group with 15 points beat Talented 6-4. Denis Kasujja and Benson Ocen each scored twice while Maxwell Okello and Isma Kawawulo scored a single goal. In other matches Kayunga Town council beat Buwanika Bulls 7-6 while St. Lawrence University who finished third on the log with 11 points beat Miami Kops 5-2.

    Elsewhere in the monsoon group, Muteesa I Royal University thumped Stormers 5-2. Herbert Luboyera notched two braces while Paul Kato sealed the day with a single goal. Real Galacticals beat Kabalagala Rangers 4-3; Mario OLum, John Revita, Abdul Karim Alviero and Kityo Eddie were on the score sheet for the Galactical’s side. YMCA beat Uhuru Titans 5-3 while Dalumba beat KIU 4-3 on penalties after a 6-all draw.  KIU tops Monsoon group with 12 points while Muteesa I Royal University and Real Galacticals are second and third on the log with 11 and 10 points respectively.
