Kayanja Depaul dragged his political enermy Fabrice Brad Rulinda to court after losing his office seat earlier this year 2021.
In a petition no.14/2021, Kayanja dragged Rulinda and the electoral commission to court after losing the mayoral seat.
Kayanja hired two law firms, Alaka & Co advocates and M/S Kizito, Lumu & Co Advocates after losing the mayoral elections earlier this year.
Kayanja’s petition was filed on the 6th May 2021, while contesting against Fabrice Blad Rulinda’s win as the new Mayor for Entebbe municipality.
Kayanja lost the mayoral seat against his rivals including Fabrice Blad Rulinda, Micheal Kabwama Mutebi (NRM),Muhammad Kawuma, Nassuna Oliver, and Ssimbwa Kenneth’s results.
The final results were announced by the Wakiso district electoral commission returning officer, Tolbert Musinguzi following a heated election with only 166 invalid votes.
Kayanja rushed to different offices to contest against Fabrice Blad Rulinda’s win and after 3months of court squabbles, he has lost the court battle after the final ruling on the 24th Sept 2021.
The court ruling was delivered by Kampala high court magistrate Isaac Muwata after two court sittings with both sides.
