Entebbe FC managed to overcome Lweza FC with a 2-0 victory at the Bugonga play ground to grab their first home win. Dan Sewava opened the score sheet in the second half with a clean finish after he cut through Lweza FC’s shaky defence. Striker Aloysius Lubega added a second goal shortly after substituting Kiiza Allan to seal Entebbe FC’s first home victory. Lweza FC’s Mike Serumaga and Dan Wagaluka who was later substituted by Ndumba Sadala in the second half had all their shots saved by goal keeper Mayanja Umar while the rest where off target.
Entebbe FC New head coach Richard Makumbi attributed his side’s victory to team work and motivating the players after he took over from Coach Abu Kigenyi.
“Basically I attribute today’s victory to team work and constantly motivating the players. Lweza FC underestimated us, they thought they would get a straight victory but we have surprised them” Richard Makumbi remarked.
“We are currently at the bottom of the league table so we played the match with a lot of pressure but Coach Makumbi has been boosting our morale and encouraging us” striker Aloysius Lubega stated.
Entebbe FC now goes to 13 points with their 2-0 victory over Lweza FC but need to win all their remaining matches to survive relegation. Entebbe FC will travel to Buikwe on 7th April where they will meet Vipers FC.
