Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has been granted a license to distribute and sell electricity in Uganda, taking over Umeme Limited, which has been doing the job for over two decades. In 2022, the government informed Umeme that its 20-year concession would not be extended beyond its expiration in March 2025.
