Government has created one central online data center with a view to avoiding duplication of information and wastage of resources. Managed by the National Information Technology Authority, the primary national data center will house all government ICT infrastructure and will host disaster recovery services for government applications and data. The leader of opposition Betty Aol Ochan yesterday made changes to the shadow cabinet appointing Rubaga South MP Kato Lubwama and Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko to the opposition front bench. Police in Mubende District have recovered two bodies of children aged 4 and 2 allegedly drowned by their own father in a water dam before he took his own life. Authorities identified the girls as Shifa Byamukama, 4, and Zabaayo Jackline, 2 both residents of Kyakadali village, Bageza Sub-county in Mubende District. Police also found the body of the victims’ father only identified as John Zabayo, 30, lying a few meters from the dam where their bodies were recovered. The family and friends of Templar Bisase, the owner of the ill fated boat that capsized on Lake Victoria killing 30 people, have accused government of using the deceased as scapegoat for their incompetence. Templar Bisase and wife Sheila were among the victims of the boat cruise that capsized while sailing towards Mutima beach with over 120 revellers on board. Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court on Monday heard that the police file for the case in which city businessman, Shukla Babubhai Mukesh, 56, is accused of fraud is missing. Mr Mukesh the executive director of Shumuk Aluminium Industries Limited is charged with 13 counts ranging from forgery, uttering false documents and conspiracy to commit a felony all contrary to the Penal Code Act. Police and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) marine units on Monday started the operation of pulling the boat wreckage out of Lake Victoria to establish if there are more bodies still trapped under following Saturday’s boat wreck.
