Former Member of Parliament Muhammad Kawuma has bashed the Democratic Party over frustrating its members in Entebbe.
“He said the Democratic Party has not nurtured, mentored and promoted its own members to take up leadership positions in the constituency” noted Kawuma.
The former parliamentarian last evening in an interview on Entebbe one, revealed that his bouncing back on the political scene due to public demand and to serve the electorates.
He said politicians are limited commitment but always ready to serve despite their moral uprightness. He said his political capability is no question having diligently served in parliament for two terms and started the vibrant political league that every opposition leaders is proud of.
Kawuma nurtured lots of young politicians that have turned politics their family affair despite their political weaklings. He said his political regime groomed several politicians including Mayor Vincent Kayanja Depaul now his political enemy.
And to my disappointment, Kayanja has not fought for a common man during his 2 terms in office. The battle started from Nakiwogo market land that was allocated to Calvary chapel under unclear arrangement, Manyago housing saga, Katabi housing estate and others have topped the common man’s frustration.
He commented about the people power political wave that he joined and later dropped to become an independent. He revealed that he dropped the NUP ticket because he can’t work with weak political team of the likes of Robert Masaazi, Lubwama Stuart, Nassuna Olivia plus others.
Politics has lost meaning with greedy and selfish leaders who never prepare for their end of times to groom young eloquent potential leaders. Kawuma gave examples of former Democratic Party members that flee the country for asylum after missing out on all the political opportunities.
In the list includes Eng Anthony Segujja, Kasule David Wasswa, Elvis Sewakambo, Viola Nampijja, Charles Kamya Kayanja plus others have flee the country to tap into other opportunities.
He said that former mayoral aide Kakembo Micheal Mbwatekamwa was subjected to test but the democrats frustrated his political ambitions and found himself joining another rival party under the National Unity Platform party headed by Hon Kyagulanyi Sentamu popularly known as Bobbywine.
Kawuma and Mayor Kayanja after the 2011 general elections have been at logger heads and attacking each other over several irreconcilable differences.
