Fast-rising gospel singer Segmento Omusoomi Wa Matayo has publicly apologized to fellow singers Pr. Wilson Bugembe and Levixone over recent statements that he deemed disrespectful.
During a recent interview, Segmento was asked if he would collaborate with secular artists, which he boldly turned down. The bloggers challenged his answer, comparing him to Pr. Bugembe and Levixone, who have consistently done it.
His response, however, painted a picture that he was comparing his ministry and theirs, in a way that he put himself above both artists.
He later realized how wrong he was, and in a bid to make amends, he appeared in a video on his TikTok platform apologizing to his two mentors.
There is something I said that looked like I was comparing myself to the two. I spoke out of foolishness, and I have never intended to disrespect my pastor, Bugembe. Those words didn’t deserve to come out of my mouth. If you listen carefully to what I said, I might have said them jokingly, but they have a big effect, and it looked like I was trying to put myself above them,” he said.

Segmento fell to his knees and cried as he begged for their forgiveness. He explained how much he loved Pr. Bugembe and how much he has inspired him and his ministry. He revealed that he might have spoken out of camera excitement and asked for grace for his statements.
There isn’t a day that I could wake up and think I’m better than them. It will never happen. In my own knowledge, I can never put myself in front of him. I look up to them, and my entire ministry revolves around them. Most times, people tell me how sharp I had been in my interviews, but for this one, I was foolish, and I acknowledge that. Please forgive me. My words of apology come from my heart. Please forgive me. I never intended to speak that way,” Segmento said while he cried.
