Gospel singer Segmento Omusomi Wa Matayo has vowed never to collaborate with a secular artist, claiming that it contradicts his faith.
Segmento, during a YouTube interview, delved into his music journey before making it known that he would never team up with an artist outside his faith.
He noted that despite fellow gospel singers like Levixone and Pr. Wilson Bugembe collaborated with secular artists; he chose to differ, saying he respects his principles.
“I cannot do a collaboration with a secular artist. Where was that written? I’m not Bugembe I will never collaborate with a secular artist, and I have been talking about it for a long time. Many have judged me asking if I had sense but if there is any evidence they need to show it, let it be that reason. That is my principal and it will still stand,” he said
Segmento, real name Jordan Ssekamatte, rose to fame with his banger Yakyadde that went viral on digital platforms, birthing numerous dance challenges on social media.

Recently, he has been trending for his song ‘Ayibambe’ and turned down several remix opportunities despite secular artists offering millions of cash.

“I turned them down. Lanek called me and told me to rethink my decision, but I have my principles. Even my friends, I refused. A principal is a principal and it only becomes a principal if you stand by it,” he said.
The gospel singer further made it clear that he had made an agreement with God, and would not heed anyone’s advice to switch to secular.
