Celebrated singer Joanita Kawalya Muganga has revealed that she cannot be controlled by her husband, as he found her self-made.
Joanita was the guest at Sheebah Karungi’s ‘Let’s Talk About It’ podcast, where she delved into different topics, including her marriage and financial independence. It is here that she was requested to talk about the current situations in marriages.
Speaking about her own experience, the Afrigo Band singer stressed that her husband, Muganga Christopher, couldn’t dare control her because she was self-sufficient.
She described herself as a self-made person who has achieved success and wealth through her own efforts and not relied on a man.
“Wherever you are, Mr. Mugaga, do you think you can control me, Joanitah? You cannot because I’m self-made. My father took care of me and educated me with his own money. You found me well taken care of. How do you then start controlling me? You cannot do that with me because I’m a self-made person. Women who sit back and hope men take care of them should expect to be controlled. If you do not want that, you have to work hard,” she said.

Joanita and Christopher have been together in Holy Matrimony since July 1995 and have lived together for over thirty years, and the bond has grown stronger as the years go by. The couple was blessed with two children: a boy and a girl.
