Renowned deejay, DJ Erycom, real name Eryck Mutebi, has advised veteran deejay, Shiru, to retire and give space to younger talent.
DJ Erycom, during his TV interview, advised Shiru to retire from deejaying, emphasizing that he wasn’t making the statement out of jealousy or undermining his talent and contribution to the industry, but he felt he needed to pave the way for the youngsters.
He stressed that while he was at the primary level of education, DJ Shiru visited their school and played his set during their leavers’ party.
Years later, Erycom said he started his professional deejaying career, and Shiru was still active in the deejaying industry. Now that he has retired, he feels it is unfair for Shiru to still be doing the same thing and not giving opportunities for the fresh upcoming talents to shine too.

“The deejay I advise to stop immediately, and not because of what he doesn’t know or know is Mr. Kiberu. If it is possible, please let it go. Please leave; you have inspired so many, and you need to keep the legacy. Please rest. I will not say that he inspired me; he didn’t because I’m way above him in everything. There is a level in life that I’ve reached, and when I see people that I found in the game still doing the same thing, I advise them to let it go and give others a chance,” Erycom said.
