Police in Kampala have arrested a city pastor and three of its officers in connection to the alleged rape of a Latvian national.
The detained include Pastor Joseph Twahirwa of the Bugolobi based Epikaizo Ministries International, who is alleged to have sexually assaulted one Anda Saulite at his home.
The three police officers in custody are Sgt Oyera Doreen, D/Cpl Akite Judith and D/Cpl Ailigat Joyce.
These are accused of mishandling the victim, Ms Saulite when she went to file a case at Jinja Road Police station.
Police says the victim first recorded a case at Jinja Road Police station and that Pastor Twahirwa was summoned and forced to handover her travel documents and the money which he brought in Uganda Shillings

At the police station Saulite says she was tormented by Police Officers who roughed her up and locked her in a cell and later made to sign an additional statement acknowledging receipt of the payment of all her money and withdrawal of the case against the Pastor.
In a statement today, Deputy Police Spokesperson Claire Nabakka said the CID Division has since taken over the case and rearrested Pastor Twahirwa who had been out on Police Bond.
The police also detained three of its officers for acting unprofessionally, and are be charged with Irregular conduct, under Code 12, sec 44 of the Police Act, according to the police mouthpiece.
“Our best team is on this and will investigate the matter to its conclusion. The file has been forwarded to State Attorney for legal advice,” she said.
Meanwhile, Ms Saulite has since been transferred to a safe and convenient accommodation to ensure her safety and her travel extended at the cost of the state to allow thorough investigations.
