The killers of senior UPDF officer have been arrested and put behind bars after shooting him dead at a private residence in Luweero.
Major Noel Mwesigye was shot bullets on the 17th/Jan/2021 at his residence in Masinga village in Kikyusa subcounty in Luwero district by unknown assailants.
The former presidential guard was showered bullets by unidentified gun men on a Sunday evening at his residence after getting out of his car.
The killers showered him bullets in the legs and chest before running away with his pistol plus some pocket change.
‘He was put on bended knees and showered over three bullets with one in the chest,legs and head before breathing his last”,said family source.
“He pleaded with the killers before finishing off with the last bullet as the family witnessed the bloody killing from the window and the killers vanished from the crime scene on motor bike”,said close friend.
The deceased saw the killers with his eyes and even waved at them before questioning his name,”Am called Major Noel Mwesigye times three times before showering him bullets to death”, said family source.
Abubaker Ssematimba the LC 3 Chairperson of Kikyusa sub county revealed that two assailants riding a motorbike attacked Mwesigye at around 9pm and shot him bullets while he was closing his car after returning at home.
Ssematimba adds that residents rushed Major Mwesigye to Holly Cross Health Center III in Kikyusa town before breathing his last but he died just on reaching there.
Ssematimba added that the assailants ran away with the deceased’s pistol before they attacked another resident Rajab Sseruwu a resident of Kyakatula village and robbed him of 450,000 shillings which he had got from selling his coffee.
We have highly established that three persons have been arrested over plotting the killing of Major Noel Mwesigye.The serving army officer in the UPDF, PPU, and Personal Bodyguard to president Museveni was laid to rest in Sembabule.
The Uganda police has finally released a report confirming the arrest of killers suspects and detained them behind bars over the killing of the former Uganda military commando.
And over five different suspects have been arrested in the connection of the killing of the late Major Noel Mwesigye. now deceased.
