A senior NRM party official has called it quits from the heated politics ahead of the 2021 general elections.
Sempala Twaha also former division ‘B’ speaker has quit the divisional race to push the party’s strong hold and former parliamentary hopeful Sebuliba Christopher.
The two reached to an agreement after several closed door meetings with party leaders following a heated battle between Sebuliba Christopher and Sempala Twaha on the same ticket.
The duo have reached a consensus with the party leadership to push a single candidate for the Division ‘B’ chairmanship.
It’s now official that the massive ruling NRM party candidate will be contesting with several others including outgoing deputy mayor Richard Ssekyondo, a resident of Kigungu whose party identification is yet to be identified plus others.
The division has two candidates that have picked interest in the divisional seat currently occupied by Stanley Namayirira who mayoral ambition where ‘watered’ down by democrats to push Mayor Vicent Kayanja Depaul for another term in office hopefully the last term.
Namayirira kicked-out former division chairperson Eng Anthony Segujja of the Democratic Party in the previous general elections and he has served one term in office.
Sebuliba Christopher is a former director at the Buganda Heritage and Tourism Board and lecturer at Nkumba University whose credibility is no question to push the divisional affairs and government programs.
