The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Entebbe on Thursday commissioned three community water taps also known as Public Stand pipes (PSP) in the areas of Bunono, Kawafu and Kabaale (B) Zones in Katabi Town Council. The NWSC Entebbe Area General Manager Mr. Turyahurira Jackson revealed that through their Service Coverage Accelerated Program 100 percent (SCAP 100), NWSC is extending safe clean drinking water to the less fortunate communities nationwide through constructing public stand pipes.
Turyahurira disclosed that last year NWSC constructed 80 Public Stand pipes in Entebbe Area and more 80 public stand pipes will be constructed in Entebbe Area this year so as to fulfill the NWSC Vision of ensuring that by 2021 Ugandans have access to clean and safe drinking water every 200 meters.
