
Muslims in Entebbe under their Entebbe Muslim County leadership have recognized former Entebbe Municipality Mayor Stephen Kabuye for his outstanding contribution towards supporting Muslim initiatives, events and programs during his tenure. Stephen Kabuye was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation during the Eid Day Celebrations that were held on Sunday at the Muslim Grounds in Entebbe Town.
Figo Matovu, the Entebbe Muslim County Chairman, revealed that Mayor Emeritus Kabuye Stephen was a loyal friend to the Muslim Fraternity in Entebbe and generously contributed funds and items in kind towards the organization of Eid Day Celebrations.
Other leaders who were recognized included MP Rose Tumusiime, Mayor Kayanja Vincent DePaul, Maj. Mcdans Kamugira (SFC), Walusimbi Abubaker (Former Entebbe Municipality aspiring Member of Parliament), Joseph Ssesanga (former Division ‘B’ Chairman), Sheikh Ramathan Mubajje (Mufti) and Hajji Jakira Ssali (Former Division ‘A’ Chairman) for their efforts towards supporting Muslim events in Entebbe.
Sadiq Musa, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) official called on the Muslims to be united and ensure that they recover all their properties including safeguarding and fencing off the contentious Entebbe Land.

He warned the rival Entebbe Muslim Community faction to desist from sowing anarchy and disunity among Muslims in Entebbe through creating unnecessary squabbles over the Muslim land. He emphasized that the Entebbe Muslim County leadership is the rightful body mandated to oversee and handle all Muslim affairs in Entebbe.
Hon. Rose Tumusiime, the Entebbe Municipality Member of Parliament urged men to embrace HIV/AIDS testing because reports indicate that the virus is rampant among men.
Meanwhile Richard Ssekyondo, the Deputy Mayor urged Muslims with Senior Four (S.4) and senior six (S.6) certificates to utilize the office of the Mayor and register for bursaries in Vocational skills.
