Six notorious thugs are behind bars at the Central Police Station in Kampala after they were arrested over stealing water meters in different areas in Entebbe Municipality. The notorious water meter thugs were arrested by Police in Entebbe last week through their intelligence operations and were put behind bars at Entebbe Police Station. The six thugs who have been identified as Bogere Kabito, Abdallah Sseribudde, Muhammad Khan, Nyanzi Mbedo, Tonny Ujala and Nicholas Ochan have been stealing water meters for several months and selling the dismantled parts in Kampala. The thugs were found with water meter exhibits that had been dismantled and ready to be sold.
The Entebbe Police OC CIID Zachariah Mbabazi confirmed the arrest of the thugs and said that they were charged with theft of water meters under SD Ref 09/04/06/17.
Mbabazi revealed that the thugs were transferred to Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala and will be tried at the Buganda Road Utility Court where all cases relating to National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) are handled.
