Over 160 women in Entebbe Municipality have acquired skills in Tailoring, Bakery and Hair dressing that were offered to them by State Minister for Primary Education and Wakiso Women Member of Parliament Hon. Rose Sseninde through her Sseninde Foundation. The women have been attending a course since February at Lake Victoria School in the respective skills aimed at enabling them start their own businesses and income generating projects.
The Entebbe Municipality Sseninde Foundation Guild President Clemence Sentabile hailed Minister Sseninde for the great job and supporting women and urged the participants to utilize the skills they have acquired.
We are very grateful to Hon. Rose Sseninde for equipping us with skills that will enable us start our own small businesses. I request all the beneficiaries of the course to utilize the skills they have acquired to teach other women in their respective villages because very many wanted to attend the course but couldn’t because of transport and several other reasons. The course was open to those who were willing and ready to acquire the skills regardless of political party affiliation, Sentabile stated.
The women will officially graduate on June 5, 2017 in Wakiso District.
