Round two of the Pepsi Beach Soccer League got under way on Sunday at the Lido Beach Entebbe with five matches on the league fixture. Makerere University Business School (MUBS) edged Nkumba select 4-3 in the first Monsoon group fixture of the day. Elvis Kasujja scored a brace, Joachim Golooba scored one goal while Nkumba Select’s Jessi Lukooki scored an own goal. Allan Zirimenya, Faizal Muwawu and Douglas Muganga each scored a goal piece. St. Lawrence goal scoring trio of Baker Lukooya, Ochera Sulaiman and Nkuubi Brian saw off struggling Talented in a 6-1 goal thriller. Baker Lukooya scored a hat trick, Ochera Sulaiman scored twice while Nkuubi Brian sealed St. Lawrence’s victory with a single goal.

In the Hurriken group fixture, Dalumba beat Kabalagala Rangers 4-2. Byaruhanga Rica scored a hat trick while Hassan Ali scored one goal. Elsewhere YMCA beat Kampala International University (KIU) 3-2 on penalties after a 4-all draw. Real Galacticals beat Muteesa I Royal University 3-1. Revita John, Kafeero Hamis and Kityo Edif were on the score sheet for Real Galacticals.

We are glad that the league has finally resumed because the beaches were shut down after 13 people drowned during the festive season. We hope everything will run smoothly so that we complete the 2015/2016 league on schedule. The league was meant to resume two weeks ago but we were forced to postpone till the ban was lifted after everything was sorted out, Beach Soccer Boss Deo Mutabazi told entebbenews on phone.
