The Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) is vowing to give the notorious Al shabaab terrorists a bloody nose before the year ends. More 2500 soldiers last week departed for the war-torn country to continue pounding the hot-headed Islamist terrorists. The 2500 Amisom soldiers are commanded by Brig. Samuel Okiding under the African Mission In Somalia (AMISOM). The Ugandan contingent was seen off at Entebbe Air base by army chief of staff Brig. Leopold Kyanda who said that promoting peace on the African continent is the corner stone of the UPDF. He hailed the 2500 contingent that returned after one year battling with the terrorists in the Horn of Africa. The 2500 contingent were commanded by Brig. Sam Kavuma. Meanwhile UPDF Spokesperson Col. Paddy Ankuda revealed that of the 2500 soldiers who were in Somalia for the last one year, only 25 were killed by the Al Shabaab. He indicated that the UPDF will continue its peace keeping efforts in Somalia until when all the terrorists are hunted down and are netted like fish.
