Police in Entebbe on Monday arrested a crime preventer masquerading as a police officer and robbing locals like crazy. Alex Nuwagaba, 35 years and a resident of Lugonjo-Nakiwogo zone was arrested like a grass hopper and caged like a dog after disguising himself as a senior police officer attached to Entebbe Police station. The man was nabbed after the public filed numerous complaints accusing him of staging illegal roadblocks and robbing locals of their hard earned dime. The poor man has been extorting dime from innocent locals who tipped police to arrest him.
It’s reported that the suspect who was discharged from police had created a detention center where he would detain people who would refuse to give him dime in good faith. The officer in charge Nakiwogo police ASP-Richard Isanga confirmed the incident and warned the public to be vigilant and watch out for wrong elements that are painting police’s name ‘black’. Police hunted down for the foxy fella like a safety pin and forced him to handover the police identity card he has been using to con poor locals.
