Twenty two year old Entebbe based Golfer Mackie Nasser has set his eyes on the Uganda Open due this year. Nasser who recently scooped Group A runner up prize at the palm valley Labour Day Golf tourney says he is practicing and training seriously for the Uganda’s biggest Golf Tournament.
“I am looking at this year’s Uganda Open and I’m training seriously 3-4 times a week to improve on my swing, ranging and chipping which I do every evening. I believe the training will strengthen my confidence to participate in the Uganda Open” Nasser told entebbenews.
“Finishing as runner up in the Labour Day Golf Tournament at the palm valley is my major victory ever since I started playing Golf three years ago” Nasser said.
Nasser who is also targeting the National team and has participated in the Entebbe Ladies Open, Barclays Bank and the Labour Day Golf Tourney is hopeful that his sponsor David Tugume will continue supporting him to play in more tournaments. Nasser speaks highly of Pro golfer Dennis Anguyo his mentor.
“I like his attitude, he is a social and a focused person when he is on the course” Nasser said of Anguyo.
Nasser who is a Kinyara registered Golfer has returned 74 Nett as his ever best result at the Entebbe Ladies Open 2015 Edition.
