Twenty three former councilors are cursing like chicken after walking out of office without being paid their sitting allowances in Entebbe.
These former councilors including the former division chairman Micheal Kabwama Mutebi with others are bitterly complaining after walking out of office without being paid their outstanding arrears amounting to over twenty million shillings(shs20M).
“These councilors in a meeting of the 30th July 2018 agreed to forward their complain to the top authorities and since then no development to that effect following a meeting with the assistance town clerk Godfrey Kiryowa”, said angry councilor.
These councilors include Ssekawooya Arafat,Mayanja Yosamu,Nakibule Annet,Kayaga Ester,Akandwanabo Vicent, Katuma Aida,Ssebuwufu Peter,Wamala Jonathan,Kaggwa Wani,Chesakit Mupenzi,Lwanga Yiga ,Musenze Bob Mike with several others are demanding their sitting allowances after walking out of their offices.
“We have highly established that each councilor was demanding about shs940,000/= and walked out of office without getting their sitting allowance”, said source.
In the last meeting in July 2018, councilors agreed with the division authorities on the modal of payment and since then the councilors are milking a dead cow following new political leadership headed by Jane Scholastica Baguma of the ruling NRM party.
Jane Scholastica Baguma is the first female divisional chairperson after Micheal Kabwama Mutebi stepping out of office for greener pastures.
Micheal Kabwama Mutebi sparked divisions within the ruling party and hated the party for good after political rival Fabrice Brad Rulinda stepping in the Mayor’s office.
