2021 Stanbic Uganda Cup: FUFA confirms dates for round of 32 matches

The 47th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup was joined by other partners, Kansai Plascon

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) competitions department confirmed the full dates for the first and return leg of the 2021 Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 matches.

Only StarTimes Uganda Premier League and StarTimes FUFA Big League clubs will this time round take part in the competition that has been played since 1971.

“This year’s edition we only have first and second division clubs because of restrictions in public gatherings and COVID-19 tests that limited us to have upcountry teams” Aisha Nalule, FUFA Competitions Director confirmed.

The opening legs will commence on Easter Monday, 5th April  and run until Wednesday, 7th April 2021.

The return legs shall be played starting Thursday, 8th April through to Sunday, 11th April 2021 with the winners over the two legs qualifying to the round of 16 stage.

Stanbic Bank Uganda is the main sponsor of this competition whose champion earns the rights to represent Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup.

Kansai Plascon announced a sponsorship package for the Stanbi Uganda Cup worthy Shs 132,000,000

Kansai Plascon joined as the other partner with man of the match cash rewards.

Proline is the reigning champion after winning the 2019 edition following cancellation of the 2020 edition because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
