    You Stole Gov’t Land – MPs to Otaffire

    A Number of MPs during a seating yesterday pointed fingers at The minister for Justice Gen Kahinda Otafiire  for using his post as a minister to grab government land and also covering it up.

    But Moments after the allegations were made by the MPs, tempers flared between the Minister and the MPs over those allegations leading to the Minister wanting to thump them.

    They alleged that Otafiire stole  land belonging to the federal government inventory farm in Njeru, Buikwe.

    In particular Francis Mwijukye, the MP for Buhweju and Hon Nandhala Mafabi pointed the fingers at Otafiire.

    The minister for Justice Gen Kahinda Otafiire then threatened to rough up Francis Mwijukye.

    Earlier, the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga had accused Otafiire and a one Muhangi of causing instability on the authorities’s inventory farm in Njeru.

    This prompted the Opposition Chief Whip Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda to ask Kadaga to permit the minister clarify his involvement within the acquisition of the federal government’s land in Njeru.

    Otafiire’s response that the land belongs to him simply angered legislators .

    This raised tempers in Parliament stirring different MPs to speak up.

    Mwijukye claimed that Otafiire had grabbed the land when he served as minister of Lands, Housing and City Development so the allegations weren’t stunning.

    Otafiire shot again: “I need honourable Mwijukye to repeat what he has stated on the floor outside Parliament and he sees,” Otafiire warned.

    Mwijukye recoiled and sat.

    However Nandala Mafabi the Budadiri West MP instructed the general to cease intimidating fellow MPs.

    Mafabi repeated Mwijukye’s allegations offering extra details.

    “You grabbed prime land opposite Kyambogo University when you served as minister of Lands,” Mafabi stated main Otafiire to smile sheepishly.

    Mafabi puzzled whether or not Otafiire may also turn on him to which the general replied that he had no intentions of combating anybody.

    Outside of the chambers after the heated debate Otafiire and Mafabi were seen exchanging smiles calming the fears of many individuals who had anticipated the scenario to turn bloody.
