Team No Sleep signee Ava Peace has opened up about the pressure and depression that come with an artist trying to make a comeback after releasing a hit song.
Ava Peace, during a media interview, recalled when she released “Shabada”, one of the songs that introduced her onto the Uganda music scene.
She revealed that she struggled to get another song to top it, and because of the pressure from the fans, she went through a tough time and turned to God for help in recording a comeback song.
“There is a point I thought maybe my YouTube was not working, but the truth is the other song was so big. Before, I used to ask God for just one hit, but now I ask Him to give me many. I think I asked wrongly in the first place because now I want more and not just one,” she revealed.
Ava Peace further stressed that, as an artist, she struggled because she had tasted the success of stepping on stage and having fans sing along to her song. However, reality came calling when the crowds no longer responded to her new music, and she couldn’t recreate the one viral moment.

“Those near you cannot get it and think it is something small just because they are not in your shoes. But only you, deep inside, only you know how you feel about it. You feel like this because you have tested how sweet it is to go on stage when everyone is singing your song. And all of a sudden, no one can even say a word in your song; it hurts so much,” she said.
For every song she records now, Ava Peace confessed that she prays to God for blessings so her fans will receive it positively.
