Mpaka Records boss Ykee Benda real name Tugume Wyclif is over the moon upon garnering 4 million views on his “Obangaina” Remake.
10 months back, Ykee Benda sought permission from veteran singer Rachel Magoola to recreate one of her mega-hits dubbed “Obangaina”.
Upon getting Hon. Rachel Magoola’s seal of approval, Ykee hit the recording booth, under the supervision of the former, and he did what he knows best.
However, Ykee Benda’s version of the song fathered divergent reactions from music aficionados, who believed the singer did not sing to their expectations.
In response, Ykee Benda revealed that he wouldn’t have released one of the songs he loved since childhood if Rachel Magoola was not convinced with his final creation.
Currently, “Obangaina” is one of Ykee Benda’s biggest tracks if we are to go by the views it has already garnered on YouTube in just 10 months.
Taking to his socials, Ykee revealed that it has been his fans’ love and support that “Obangaina” has registered such a milestone boefore thanking them fot the gesture.
