
A Yemeni national was last night arrested at Entebbe International Airport with a contraband containing over two dozen rhino horns.
The suspect, identified as Al-Maamari Maged Mutahar was nabbed by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) dogs which are stationed at the airport.
Bashir Hangi, the Uganda says the suspect was found with 26 pieces of Rhino horns weighing 15 kilograms.
“He was arrested at 03:10 am upon search of his luggage,” Hangi said.
“The Rhino horns were concealed in food items to disguise their identity but our highly trained dogs were able to detect them.”
The suspect was handed over to aviation police and at the airport for further management of the case.

“UWA will continue to make Uganda a dangerous place for anyone involved in wildlife trafficking,” Hangi added.
