Goodlyfe singer Weasel Manizo, real name Douglas Mayanja, has cautioned Ugandans never to play his music in the wake of his passing.
Weasel’s statement comes in response to Master Parrot’s recent death, who was one of the top artists in the 2000s, boasting a rich catalogue but unfortunately lost his musical spark.
Following his death, however, Master Parrot’s music started trending on social media platforms with many users playing it in remembrance and celebration of him.
Weasel, during an interview with BBS TV, described the act as hypocritical, noting that Ugandans were known for only celebrating people in their death.

He insinuated that he was not being appreciated enough while he was still alive and willed that if he died one day, no one was allowed to play his music in a bar or anywhere.

“That is what happens, and I know they are waiting for me to die. But I will not die. They remembered Master Parrot after his death, but when I die, God forbid, I do not want anyone to play my music out in the bar. You only appreciate people after their death. Master Parrot was here recently, and there is a video of him sleeping in a bar toilet.
Weasel, who recently celebrated his 41st birthday, revealed that he had lived long enough to witness those who appreciated him and those who didn’t. Henceforth, he was more focused on his small family, knowing that many friends had turned against him.
