Due to the Covid 19 aka Corona Virus Pandemic, Many have considered the possibility of Exams being done online
Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) says it has not issued any statement about plans to conduct national exams online.
The board says the message is being circulated by a fake Facebook account that was created in its name.
“It has come to the attention of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) that there are some unscrupulous people operating a fake social media account in the name of UNEB, and are circulating fake information to the effect that UNEB is likely to consider conducting online Examinations if conditions persist,” Dan Odongo, the executive secretary of Uneb said in a Friday statement.
“UNEB disassociates itself from such fake information and informs the public that online conduct of examinations has not been considered as an option.”
UNEB says it will wait for guidance from the Ministry of Education and Sports on the re-opening of schools and subsequent conduct of examinations.
Uneb is responsible for conducting Primary Leaving Examinations, Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UCE) exams.
The government is yet to clarify on when schools will resume. Some people are speculating it could play the Kenyan game and declared a dead year.
