Treescape Planet Organisation, a leading environmental NGO, and Samasource, a global tech company providing AI-driven computer vision solutions, are proud to launch the Sama Green Initiative, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign aimed at tree planting and environmental education in schools across Uganda.
The inaugural event, held at East Kololo Primary School, brought together students, educators, employees of Samasource and local community members to plant a variety of native and fruit-bearing trees.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to combat deforestation, promote biodiversity, and foster environmental awareness among Uganda’s youth.
Representing Treescape Planet at the event was Bonnita Tukwatanise, who emphasized the importance of community-driven sustainability initiatives: ”Our mission is to empower communities to take action on reforestation and environmental conservation. Working with Samasource, we are excited to engage students and promote long-term sustainability.”
Speaking on behalf of Samasource, Bronia Kyomukama noted, ”Sama Green is a key part of our impact agenda, and we’re committed to contributing to environmental sustainability alongside our work in AI. This event is just the beginning of many more actions to restore our environment and inspire future generations.”
Samasource and Treescape Planet have committed to future tree-planting events as part of their ongoing CSR activities in Uganda.
