Singer Hajat Stecia Mayanja has revealed that she is no longer a member or president of the National Peasants Party.
A few days back, Stecia Mayanja was one of the musicians who thrilled fans at President Museveni’s political event at Kololo Independence grounds in Kampala.
Stecia’s performance was met with significant criticism from party members and social media users, who called out for seemingly campaigning with her rival.
The National Peasant Party committee made a bold decision, summoning Stecia Mayanja and subsequently expelling her from the party for failing to uphold its values and beliefs.
While addressing members of the press earlier today, Stecia Mayanja revealed that she is not ready to ditch her music career to focus on politics.
It is at this point that she announced that she is no longer a member or president of NPP, promising to announce her next move in her subsequent communication.
