Six Congolese Nationals were Arrested With Fake Dollars they were planning to flood in the Uganda market last week.
On August 29, 2025, in Arua city, West Nile region, Uganda police intelligence information was received regarding some Congolese nationals involved in selling of suspected counterfeit United States dollar notes within Arua city.
Acting on this information, a trap was set. During the operation, six (06) suspects were arrested, and suspected counterfeit dollar notes amounting to 300,000 US, sealed in bundles of $100,000 were recovered.

The suspects arrested include Minike Dudu, Mumbere Asiha, Akwinza Dudu Mitira, Shadrak Kaputara, Jean Pierre Hassan, and Musa Ahmed.
Additionally, during the search, 12 rolled sticks of marijuana were found.
The six Congolese nationals remain in custody pending investigations.
