Rwanda has registered its first Covid-19 death case today May 30 2020
The patient who died, the report indicates, was a 65-year-old Rwandan truck driver who had been residing in a neighboring country but opted to return home in Rwanda, after falling seriously ill.
Rwanda has over 355 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 247 recoveries as of May 30, and this, its first death.
“He (patient) received intensive care treatment at a specialized covid-19 facility but unfortunately passed away due to severe respiratory complications,” reads the report in part.
This comes at a time when the East African countries, in particular, are dealing with the vast covid-19 cases springing up within the cargo transit crew personnel – truck drivers.
