Residents of Kawafu Zone, Abaita Ababiri in Katabi Town Council are in deep shock after the Agali Awamu Primary School Teacher and Director of Studies identified as Ruth Namuganyi ended her Son’s life in the early morning hours Monday. The school teacher locked herself with her 7 year old son identified as Emma Katebera in her apartment located in the school premises and embarked on her suicidal mission after the school authorities fired her over poor manners and disrespecting her fellow teachers. The teacher got so frustrated and desperate over the news and started plotting the suicidal mission. Close neighbors rushed to the apartment after they saw smoke.
The neighbors broke the door and only saved the woman while the kid had already been burnt to ashes. She was rushed to Kisubi Hospital after she sustained several Injuries. Police detectives discovered that she had used Paraffin to burn herself up and her kid. The kid was set to start Primary two (P.2) this year.
The Entebbe Police OC CID Zachariah Mbabazi confirmed the incident and revealed that the lady was rushed to Mulago Hospital where she will be monitored as she gets treatment and after recuperating she will be charged with Murder and Arson.
