Security forces in the East Kyoga Region have achieved a major breakthrough by arresting 11 suspects linked to the brutal robbery and murder of mobile money operator Patricia Kokunda.
The 36-year-old victim was fatally shot in the early hours of Good Friday, April 3, 2026, near Goalman Supermarket on Station Road. Following intensive intelligence-led operations across Soroti, Amuria, Kalaki, and Abim districts, Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke confirmed that the core of the criminal network has been neutralized.
The Suspects: Planners and Executioners
Investigations have identified the specific roles played by the gang members in this coordinated attack:

The Shooter: David Emenyu (alias Sam Ogwang/Olipong).

The Planner: Emmanuel Okello (alias Imorning).

The Mastermind: Rashid Eyamu (alias Odekuro), who allegedly initiated the plan.

The Muscle: Simon Epeu (alias Iboda), suspected of dragging the victim from her vehicle.

The Supplier: Alfred Elacu, arrested for allegedly supplying the ammunition.
Other suspects in custody include the wives of key players and several accomplices believed to have aided the gang’s movements.

The police operation resulted in the recovery of critical physical evidence and a portion of the stolen funds:
