Singer Peter Miles has spoken out on the recent trend of veteran artists coming out of retirement and staging concerts, citing that it is not something he is focusing on right now.
As a businessman, Peter Miles says he focuses on making money through his numerous businesses, and if he were to reconsider staging a concert, he would not leave it to the promoter to decide but take it upon himself to see that he gives his fans their best night.
Owing to his perfectionist persona, Miles revealed that it would take him a full year of rehearsal, not only for performances but also for the instruments, which he said he would love to be played live on stage.
“I do not do half-baked things. If I decide to do a concert, I will not just come and have someone do it for me, no. I have to fully participate, hands on. This can even take me for a full year just practicing because the music is mine and how I did it. I know the instruments I selected while producing it and I want them to be played on that day on live,” he said.

Peter Miles, real name Peter Kanyike, rose to fame in the early 2000s with hit songs like Muwala and Owange, which cemented his position in the Uganda dancehall music scene. He was known for his unique dancehall style of music that he infused with partois.

He revealed that not many Ugandans believed in him at the beginning of his career because they didn’t understand the kind of music he was releasing. With this, many tried all ways to sabotage his career, and most times compared him to artists like Jose Chameleone who were trending at that time.
“My goal was to raise the Ugandan flag across the globe, but at the same time, my own Ugandan people were doing everything to bring me down,” he said.
