Nile Breweries, through its flagship brand Nile Special, is proud to announce its exclusive partnership with Uganda Cricket Cranes as the official beer partner for the upcoming Challenge League B tournament, which will take place from November 4th to 17th, 2024.
This partnership aims to elevate Uganda’s cricket experience and celebrate the nation’s passion for sports on both the local and global stages.
The first round of the Challenge League B tournament will feature six nations – Uganda, Tanzania, Hong Kong, Singapore, Italy, and Bahrain competing at Lugogo and Entebbe grounds, with the ultimate goal of advancing towards qualification for the 2027 World Cup.
Uganda will host this round of the tournament, offering cricket fans in the country the chance to cheer on their national team, the Cricket Cranes, as they aim to succeed on the world stage.
“We are incredibly excited to be partnering with Cricket Uganda for this historic event. Nile Special is ‘Made of Uganda’, and we believe that cricket is one of the sports that truly represents the talent, energy, and unity of our people. We look forward to not only providing the best refreshment for all the fans attending but also to creating unforgettable experiences that go beyond the pitch, celebrating the game and Ugandan pride,” said Eric Malinga, Brand Manager.
The Cricket Cranes have been making Ugandans proud, with recent achievements including qualifying for the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies, winning the Africa Cup twice (2022 and 2023), and now preparing for the Africa finals for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Hosting round one of the Challenge League B is yet another step in showing the world what Ugandan cricket is capable of, and Nile Special is happy to be part of this journey.
Nile Special aims to enhance the fan experience throughout the tournament. As part of the partnership, the brand will bring exciting activities to keep the energy high.
After every match, Nile Special will host an after-party featuring celebrity DJs and performances by local artists, keeping the excitement alive long after the final ball.
Throughout the tournament, engaging activities will be held to entertain fans both online and at the grounds. Winners will receive exclusive Nile Special rewards, adding to the excitement and giving back to the fans for their loyalty.
“Our goal is to elevate the fan experience and show the world what cricket means to Ugandans. From the games themselves to the after-parties and fan interactions, we want every moment of the first round of the Challenge League B tournament to be unforgettable. We want fans to have a great time, whether they’re watching the action on the pitch or enjoying the incredible vibe around the stadium. This partnership is about bringing people together, the cricket fans, players, and the entire community, to celebrate the game,” added Brand Manager Eric Malinga.
The Challenge League B is a 50-over format, with action lasting for over eight hours a day, from 10 a.m. to around 5 p.m.
Cricket fans will have the opportunity to be engaged from the first ball to the last, with a 45-minute lunch break offering a moment to relax and recharge.
All matches will be streamed live on ICC.TV, providing fans with the chance to follow every moment.
Nile Special will leverage its wide reach and influence to promote the event, ensuring that more Ugandans come out to support their national team and experience the excitement of international cricket.
