“The President and Commander in Chief of the UPDF have made the following appointments, including Maj Gen Charles Okidi as Deputy Commander Airforce,” said army spokesman Brig Felix Kulayigye Thursday evening.

Maj Gen Okidi has been serving as the air force chief of Staff since 2019, taking over for then-major general Paul Lokech, who had been appointed as a special envoy to South Sudan.

In the most recent changes, Maj Gen Okidi has been replaced as Chief of Staff of the Air Force by Brig David Agonyi. In contrast, Col Abdul Rugumayo has been appointed as the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence deputy commander.
