The Uganda Ministry of Health has approved dancehall singer Karole Kasita’s “The Power Within live concert at Kampala Serena Hotel.
For the past few months, Karole has been diligently honing her craft ahead of her much-anticipated concert on 29 May 2026.
Amid preparations, the country was struck by Ebola, a virus that stemmed from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), before spreading in Uganda.
In an effort to mitigate cross-border infections, the Uganda Ministry of Health temporarily closed its border with the DRC for several weeks, making exceptions only for cargo trucks and humanitarian workers.

Additionally, the government halted unstructured or uncontrolled crowds, including music concerts, marathons, and cultural festivals, among others.
Event promoters were obliged to acquire clearance from the Ministry of Health and other authorities before holding any event.

Based on the letter shared online, the Ministry of Health requested that Karole Kasita concert organizers adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other health guidelines issued by the Ministry.
