Renowned singer Mimi Kampala has opened up about her relationship with fellow musician Kapeke, denying any romantic dealings between him.
Mimi Kampala and Kapeke earlier this year teamed up on a song dubbed “Gundi” remix, sparking controversy in the media. In several media clips, Kapeke could be seen visiting Mimi at her place and being served home-cooked meals.
The two, who appeared not to be moved by the camera that was focused on them, were captured in compromising situations, fueling rumors that they were an item.
Mimi, however, during her interview with Galaxy TV, laughed off the allegations, clarifying that they were simply friends. The singer revealed that she was a very social and welcoming person who loved having her friends at her home, Kapeke inclusive.
“He is just my good friend. I don’t know why people do not believe this. I have many friends and them not being at my home means they do not just want to. I’m good at inviting people to my place. First of all, my hobby is cooking because I’m a good cook,” she said.
Responding to queries about her position in Kapeke’s life following the dancehall singer unveiling his girlfriend, Priscy Black, Mimi made it clear that she was simply happy for them. She described Priscy as a very nice friend to her, saying that she was not involved in their romance.

Mimi further clarified that she had no time for relationships at this stage of her life, as she is busy focusing on her music career.
“Prisca is a very nice girl and she is even my friend as well. Why would I be angry at them yet it doesn’t concern me. I do not have anyone. Right now I’m so focused on my career and I’m trying to give people the best,” she said.
