Musician Mary Bata has revealed that she accepted to perform at an NRM gig because she wanted to campaign for Bobi Wine.

In an interview, Mary Bata explained that she was deceived by the person who hired her, who claimed she was to perform at a function in Mubende. When Bata, who had come smartly dressed in a gomesi, learned that it was a campaign, she rushed to a nearby shop and bought the clothes she appeared in on stage.

She couldn’t turn it down because the person who booked her had already paid. Being a massive supporter of Bobi Wine and NUP, Mary Bata revealed she accepted the NRM gig to promote Bobi’s agenda.

“Me speaking about Bobi Wine or campaigning for him is my duty. He supported me during my days at Kream Production when I was nothing. It was from that show that I got to where I am now. I tell you that Bobi Wine is my president and he has a heart that loves the people. It is not bad for me to side with the people,” she said in a follow up interview.
