Dancehall singer King Michael has opened up on how musicians and concert promoters use ritual methods to prevent rain from disorganizing their concerts.
King Michael made the revelation while addressing the long-standing belief that entertainers seek the services of self-proclaimed traditionalists to keep rain away from event venues.
Sharing his experience, the self-proclaimed dancehall king reflected on his encounter years back when he had two concerts; one at Satellite Beach, Mukono, and another one at Calendar in Makindye. o
The first one was a success without any challenges; unfortunately, when he was leaving Mukono to head for the second show, they advised him to seek guidance from the ritualist to prevent the rains from ruining it.
“I had many artists on my lineup to perform for me and I begged this guy to come with me to Calendar to help me stop it from raining. We agreed on the money but he had other people who had booked him in other districts. I begged him to work on me while he was away but he said it would only be possible if he was at the venue to see what he would do. He told me to deposit the money he had told me and he went,” he said.

According to King Michael, dark clouds gathered over the venue midway through conducting sound checks and preparing for the concert, raising fears that heavy rain would disrupt the event.
“When I called and asked about the rain, he told me that it would pass after 20 minutes. And that is what happened. These things happen,” he said.
"I had two shows and paid someone to stop the rain from falling. However, it started to rain at Calendar and when I called the person, he told me that he had chased that rain from somewhere and it was just passing by to some other place," King Michael
