Singer Kin Bella has revealed that she never earned a single penny from her collaboration with Eddy Kenzo, citing that he reserved all the rights to the song, thereby earning all the royalties.
Kin Bella was officially introduced to the scene through a collaboration, ‘Nkuwe,’ that she did with Eddy Kenzo in 2023. This was after she had struggled with life while doing odd jobs and voicing artists at Boom Back Records.
Bella, real name Niwabo Belinda, had long been in conversations with Eddy Kenzo on social media before they met at Caramel in Munyonyo. She sampled the audio, and since she hadn’t released it yet, Kenzo liked it, and they agreed to hit the studio.
Being a young artist looking for a breakthrough, Kin Bella, during an interview, revealed that she agreed to Kenzo’s suggestions to have the song uploaded on his YouTube channel.
She alleged that Kenzo did this after he claimed he had a huge following, but she has never earned anything from it despite being the initial owner of the song.

“I have a song with the president, but I have no copyright on it, and I do not have any shares in it. I have nothing on that song, even when it was mine. Initially, it was mine, and He just added a verse on it. But you have this mentality that this person helped me, and you are scared of speaking out. You have this feeling that this person supported me and believed in me when no one did. He sits you down and tells you that the song has to go on his page because he has a bigger following. As a young artist, you have to believe,” Kin Bella said.
Kin Bella, however, holds Kenzo in high regard, and she recently not only credited him for helping her out financially when she was struggling with bills like rent but also for introducing her to numerous stages.
