Dancehall singer Karole Kasita has defended herself against the recent debate on social media that saw users criticize artists for flying economy class every time they are going for shows abroad.
The conversation stemmed from the videos that showed Winnie Nwagi, John Blaq, Karole Kasita, and Ziza Bafana traveling to London for a performance in business class.
Addressing the criticism in a TV interview, Karole Kasita revealed that she flew economy but managed to come back in business class.
This was not because she wanted to, but because at that time, business class was full and they needed her to be in London on that particular day for the performance. She, however, made it clear that she would not live her life by people’s standards in order to please them.

To her, making money was her top priority, and if she got a chance to perform abroad and was being paid an amount that she requested, she would happily fly economy class to secure the bag.

“I do not want to live my life knowing that I’m following people’s orders, just because they want business class, that I should book business class too. Or that I should not go anywhere to work just because I want to be booked in business class. I do not roll like that. To me, it is about making money. Once I’m back with the money, I can travel the way I want to. If someone says they cannot afford business class but wants you to come and pick up the money, then go ahead. I do not have such rules as long as you are paying me my money how I want it,” Kasita said.
