Musician Kapeke has been issued with the Notice Of Intention To Sue by Ssemwogerere Ivan, alias Sixteen Promotions, for malicious damage and theft.
According to Sixteen, Kapeke was hired alongside Karole Kasita to perform at a certain school, and he arrived late despite being paid in full.
The performance was scheduled for 4 PM, but he arrived close to 7 PM. When Sixteen tried to caution him, his gang rounded him up, seeking to know why he was speaking to their artist.
It is alleged that he didn’t perform for even five minutes and left the stage, running to his car. The students were left very furious because they had waited for him for a long time.
“In the scuffle, his gang not only stole my money, but they waited for me to get out of the school and beat me up. They also damaged my car near the Bombo market. I wouldn’t fight them because there were many. They destroyed my windshield,” he said.
Sixteen revealed that Kapeke was apologetic at first and promised to cover the costs after his next show at Kigo, but later stopped picking up his calls and switched off his phone.

According to the court document drafted by Sixteen’s lawyers, Meliora Advocates, he demands that Kapeke issue a formal apology either in person or through his lawyers.
He was also tasked with covering the losses that were incurred as a result of his gang. Failure to do so within the next seven days from the notice would result in them having no option but to drag him to court.
“We shall be left with one option and that’s teaching you what we also understand best that’s in the courtroom not anywhere else and believe us that the judges there won’t smile with a Kapeke that betrayed their clients, destroyed their property and stole from them with impunity,” read part of the notice.
The case was reported at Bombo Police Station as a theft and malicious damage charge under case reference 53/19/07/2025.
