Ugandan singer Kapa Cat has criticized the current generation of artists, saying the industry has become less exciting because many artists are unwilling to engage in healthy competition.
Speaking during a radio interview, Kapa Cat revealed that the music battles were important in the competitive industry as they helped to make it more vibrant and also promote the artists. However, she mentioned that the current set of artists, especially the females, always avoid such opportunities.
Kapa Cat noted that she approached female musicians like Karole Kasita and Cindy Sanyu, suggesting that they stage music battles, unfortuntately they both declined. Karole Kasita always gave inconclusive answers, while Cindy Sanyu revealed that she was not engaging with younger female artists anymore because they do not appreciate her efforts.
“The industry is boring. All artists are boring. There are some female artists I approach and suggest to them that maybe we do a musical battle or even fight. They keep telling me that they are scared; that is all boring. We should just take it that this category of artists in this generation is just a dull one,” she said.
Despite what most think, that music battles are set up by rivals, Kapa Cat believes otherwise, arguing that she viewed them as a form of entertainment to the fans rather than a fight between artists.

“Music is there but needs promotion. As long as the battles are healthy, we just need to promote them. I can battle anyone because I’m musical and an entertainer. Whether a female or male, as long as the battle is musical and nothing else,” she said.
She, however, admitted that veteran musician Peter Miles is one artist she would find challenging to face because of his experience and talent. Even so, she said she would still be willing to battle him for the sake of entertainment.
