Dancehall singer Roden Y Kabako has defended his best friend, Sheebah Karungi, against allegations that she swindled money belonging to other artists under the Uganda National Musicians Federation.
The Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), specifically their president, Eddy Kenzo, has faced a lot of criticism from fellow artists, with the recent incident being Ziza Bafana, who accused him of allegedly pocketing billions of money given by the government to support artists.
Sheebah, who acts as the Federation Vice President, somehow came into the mix, sparking Kabako’s response, putting the rumours to rest. During his media interview, the singer denied the allegations, confessing that Sheebah, being his best friend, couldn’t just throw her under the bus.
“I want to let you know that Sheebah is not among those who are stealing money. I have one problem: my friend never does anything wrong in my eyes. She is among the people I protect. Secondly, if we are talking about such issues, we should exclude women. We shouldn’t drag our women into such matters because they might involve them in things,” he said.

The tension between Ziza Bafana and Eddy Kenzo has been ongoing for weeks, with the latter accusing UNMF of mismanaging Sacco funds.

Kabako, together with King Saha, publicly announced that they would be joining Ziza Bafana’s side to expose them and since he hadn’t mentioned Sheebah, they would exclude her from their conversations.
“Another thing, I’m following what Bafana said. He has a particular person he was talking about, and everyone knows that. Bafana outed everything, and I just followed suit. My problem is not with third parties; I attack the real person,” he said.
