Singer Jowy Landa has revealed that it wasn’t in her plans to become an artist, saying her natural-born talent influenced her career.

In a YouTube interview, Jowy Landa said her dream was to be a teacher, but she didn’t earn the required grades. Having been raised by a single mother, the singer also lacked the funds to push her further in school and decided to pursue a side hustle to earn money while she waited.

My mother was entirely responsible for my school fees. I looked for something I could do in the meantime to raise money, and my friend suggested that I start backing musicians.

She revealed that her mother raised her with three other siblings. Jowy added that her father passed away before she got her big breakthrough, but she firmly believes that if he were still alive, he wouldn’t have let her pursue music because of how strict he was and how upright he wanted her to turn out.
