Singer Jowy Landa has opened up about the reason behind her changing management, citing that she uses it to escape sexual advances from managers who mix business with personal or sexual pleasure.
Jowy Landa, real name Joan Namugerwa, is one of the few female artists with a record of moving from one management to another. Over the past few years in the industry, the singer has signed with different labels, raising questions about why she never stays with the same manager for long.
Jowy Landa’s career officially kicked off under Pallaso’s Team Good Music. She has since moved to record labels like Sure Entertainment and De Texas before signing with DJ Roja’s 7 Star and later Team No Sleep’s Jeff Kiwa. She, however, shortly joined TCM management, which she also quit shortly afterwards.
Speaking during a TikTok live, Jowy Landa confessed that the persistent sexual advances from some of the managers were the major reason behind her repeated changes in management. She revealed that when a manager became unprofessional with such advances, she chose to leave immediately.
“Sexual advances: once any of them asks to sleep with me, I immediately leave the group. I hate explaining myself to Ugandans. If you say I’m ill-mannered, then so be it. If it is because I do not give in to sexual advances, then that is also fine. I realized when you explain yourself, people will judge you the most. They said the reason I’m still stuck as an upcoming artist is that I do not give out my body, but why would I?” She said.
At this point, Jowy Landa revealed she is working with one of the richest and best managers, as recommended to her by Jeff Kiwa. She denied allegations that she was pushed out of TNS in favor of Ava Peace, noting that Jeff Kiwa remained an important figure in her career and even helped her sign with her current management.

“I do not have time to defend myself anymore. Jeff Kiwa is like my father. He is the one who got me the manager I’m working with. I hate explaining myself, and I leave people to say what they think is okay. I have one of the best and richest managers in Uganda. These guys are very rich, and I do not want to explain anymore,” she said.
